warming hope

April 23, 2012

Today the snow came as promised.

I was feeling fairly glum and then I saw this pink shining brightly through the white. And then I got a little closer and the pink’s frailty became abundantly apparent.

Hope is like this sometimes.

It feels like it could just fall apart at any moment, but then you get a little closer and see that this pink is connected to a branch…

connected to the trunk…

growing from the roots that dig deep and will not be hurt by the surface changes.

Today I am thankful for the reminder that while the pink happy times might fade, my soul remains rooted in growing and I can rest in that truth.
